Turn Your Network Into a Multimillion-Dollar Pipeline
Warm intros aren't a nice-to-have. For SaaS companies, they're the highest-performing GTM channel that exists:
3–5x
Close Rates
4x
Higher Conversion
Highest LTV/CAC
Ratio of Any Channel
Depending on stage, your network should already be worth $1–$20M in pipeline. Most teams treat it as an afterthought instead: reactive, unstructured, and dependent on luck. This playbook fixes that.

The 6 Steps
01
Map & Tier Your Network
Segment every high-leverage relationship into 3 tiers
02
Appoint a GTN Lead
One owner drives the motion, or it stalls
03
Activate Tier 1
Wheel & spoke model, quarterly cadence
04
Activate Tier 2
Incentivized, well-timed, specific asks
05
Activate Tier 3
Add value first, nurture, then earn the ask
06
Expand Use Cases
Multithreading, exec coverage, expansion, partnerships, hiring
Step 1: Map & Tier Your Network
List every high-leverage relationship your company already has access to: investors, board members, advisors, executive friends, existing customers, internal leaders, agency/tech partners, podcast contacts, event contacts, high-signal LinkedIn connections.
Tier
Who's in it
Motion
01
Investors, board, advisors, internal leaders, exec friends
Wheel & spoke, batch by introducer, repeatable quarterly cadence
01
Partners, champion customers, agencies
Incentivized, well-timed specific asks; proactive, not reactive
01
Podcast guests, event attendees, happy non-closed prospects
Add value, nurture, earn the ask
Step 2: Appoint a GTN Lead
Warm intros stall without ownership. This person (usually VP/Head of Sales):
Owns the warm-intro program end to end
Runs the line of communication with execs (or routes asks through the CEO)
Tracks every intro from ask to outcome
Without a lead, warm intros are random. With one, they're repeatable.
Step 3: Activate Tier 1 (Wheel & Spoke)
3.1 Do your homework first.
For each introducer, identify every potential path to your target accounts:
Get their LinkedIn connections export
Filter against your ICP list
Verify real relationships
Worked together, portfolio companies, college batchmates, shared board/advisory roles, mutual LinkedIn engagement, shared panels/podcasts
Rank by closeness, recency, and timing relevance
If you're using Vieu, this entire step is automated, including 40+ relationship sources beyond LinkedIn (email, calendar, patents, board memberships, event attendance).
3.2 Then, in your regular touchpoint:
Set context, let them choose who they're comfortable introducing, keep intros over email with the GTN lead BCC'd for tracking.
Pro tip: If an introducer is uneasy about a direct intro, suggest a soft ask instead, invite the target to an event, podcast, or roundtable. Even weak relationships can be leveraged this way.
3.3 The Ask Email (4 elements)
- Specific ask: name exactly who
- Why it matters: the value or urgency
- Why them: why this person specifically
- Forwardable blurb: a ready-to-send copy-paste message
Hey Ben - hope you're doing well!
Would you be open to introducing me to Uri Levine at Morgan Stanley?
Specific ask
They're actively exploring vendors in our space - this could be a $ 2M+ opportunity."
Why it matters
I know you worked closely with him during your time at Citi, a message from you would carry a lot of weight.
Why them
Have included an intro blurb for you to copy-paste. Would greatly appreciate your help on this.
Forwardable blurb
3.4 The Intro Email (4 elements)
- Reference mutual history
- Crisp one-liner pitch
- Tie to a strategic priority or pain
- Permission-based ask (if the relationship isn't strong enough for a direct intro)
Hi Uri,
Hope you're well! It's been a while since our Citi days, Great to see you leading strategic partnerships at Morgan Stanley.

Happy to set up a call if this feels timely.

3.5 Track Everything
Record every ask, intro, and outcome. Follow up within 48–72 hours. Keep introducers updated and thanked.
Vieu tools make this 10x faster: email integration, automated intro routing, built-in tracking from request to result.
Step 4: Activate Tier 2
Customers. Generic "know anyone?" asks don't work, customers don't have anyone top of mind and don't want to do the legwork. What works: timely, specific asks.
Timing:
Right after a positive moment, praise on a call, a glowing testimonial, a successful milestone
Target list:
High NPS, active community members, testimonial givers, expanding accounts
The ask:
Personalized opener + simple ask + a shortlist of 5–7 specific named people (auto-surfaced via Vieu) + forwardable blurbs + optional light incentive (gift card, discount, swag, charitable donation)
Partners. Audit informal relationships across affiliates, referring customers, vendors, and industry influencers. Make it mutual: co-sell, share leads both ways, cross-promote, offer intros back. Run a proactive quarterly ask cadence instead of waiting.
With Vieu, you don't just see which partners touch a target account, you see which specific individuals in their network already have relationships inside it.
Step 5: Activate Tier 3
The broad, loose-tie network. Give before you ask:
Share useful content
Be genuinely helpful in communities/LinkedIn
Send them prospects or candidates when relevant
Champion their wins publicly
Once you've earned it, ask with a specific, low-pressure reference to your recent help ("Glad that intro worked out, would you be open to one in return?").
Step 6: Your Network Does More Than Pipeline
Use case
What it unlocks
Multithreading
Reach multiple stakeholders early, reduce deal risk
Exec Coverage
Elevate stalled conversations
Unblocking Deals
Reopen or accelerate stuck opportunities
Customer Expansion
Get referred into new teams/regions
Strategic Partnerships
Engage ecosystem players for GTM
Executive Hiring
Find trusted candidates via warm intros
