This Privacy Policy or "Policy" explains how Vieu, Inc. and its subsidiaries and affiliates (collectively, "Vieu", "we", "our", and "us") collect, use, disclose, and protect Personal Information (as defined below) in connection with our Services. In this Policy, "Services" means, collectively, the Vieu websites (including try.vieu.com), the Vieu web application, the Vieu browser extension, and any related APIs, integrations, mobile applications, and features that Vieu makes available from time to time. If you have any questions that this Policy does not address, please contact us at info@vieu.com. By creating an account for, installing, or otherwise using any of the Services, or by submitting Personal Information to us through the Services, you give your consent to the collection and use of your Personal Information as explained in this Policy. This Policy is part of our Terms of Use and all capitalized terms used but not defined in this Policy have the meaning given to them in the Terms of Service.
This Policy applies to current and former Vieu customers, end users, and any other users of the Services. The term "Personal Information" refers to information that identifies, relates to, describes, is reasonably capable of being associated with, or could reasonably be linked, directly or indirectly, with a particular individual or entity.
Section 1 — Updates and Changes to Our Privacy Policy
Please note that, in the event of a change in policy, a revised Policy will promptly be posted on the Services. You agree to accept posting of a revised Policy electronically as actual notice to you. Any dispute over our Policy is subject to this notice.
Section 2 — How and Why We Gather Information
When you sign up for or use the Services, you may be asked to provide information such as your full legal name, work email address, employer, and other professional information that is necessary to provision your account, deliver the Services, and communicate with you. From time to time, we may request additional information to help us further assess your needs and preferences.
Section 3 — Types of Information We Collect
The information we collect about you comes from the following sources:
(a) Information you provide to us directly. When you fill out forms, configure your account, or use the Services, we collect information including your name, work email address, employer, job title, company, professional context, sales objectives, target accounts, account-plan content, follow-ups, and other content you upload, generate, or input into the Services.
(b) Information collected automatically. When you use the Services, we automatically collect diagnostic and usage data, including IP address, approximate region (derived from IP address), browser type and version, operating system, the email address associated with your Vieu account, the version of the Services you are using, URLs of pages where the Services are active, click and event analytics within the Services, crash logs, and login and session information.
(c) Information from third-party services you authorize us to connect. To deliver certain features of the Services, you may authorize Vieu to access third-party services on your behalf, including your work email and calendar (via Google or Microsoft) and your customer relationship management ("CRM") system (such as Salesforce or HubSpot). We access information from those services only as necessary to provide the features you have explicitly enabled. Vieu's access to and use of information received from Google APIs is further described in the section "Google API Services User Data Policy".
Section 4 — How We Protect Your Information / Keeping Information Safe
Keeping Information Safe
We limit access to the Personal Information you provide us to those employees who need access to that information in order to provide you with services under the Services. In keeping with industry standards and practices, we maintain appropriate physical, electronic and procedural safeguards, and controls designed to protect your Personal Information. These safeguards include administrative, technical, and physical controls that are subject to regular monitoring for compliance, and Vieu will not significantly reduce the overall security of the Services during any subscription term.
We have invested in software, systems and procedures aimed at offering you a safe and secure transaction environment and protect your personal, business and historical interaction information. While no security system is absolutely impenetrable, we plan to constantly review, refine and upgrade our security technology as new tools become available.
We will delete your Personal Information when it is no longer needed for these purposes. If we cannot delete it, for technical reasons, entirely from our systems, we will put in place appropriate measures to prevent any further processing or use of the data. We retain Personal Information for as long as necessary to provide the Services, comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.
Section 5 — The Importance of Being Accurate
We have security standards and procedures in place designed to prevent unauthorized access to your Personal Information. A key part of this process helps ensure that the Personal Information we have about you is accurate and up-to-date. If you ever discover inaccuracies in our data or if your Personal or Business Information changes, we urge you to notify us immediately. We only use your Personal Information as appropriate to provide you with quality services and to ensure security. For example, we may use the information collected from you to verify your identity and contact information.
Section 6— Your Rights Over Personal Information
Subject to applicable law, you have rights regarding your Personal Information, including the right to access, correct, or delete the Personal Information we hold about you, and to opt out of certain uses of your Personal Information. We do not sell Personal Information, and we do not share Personal Information for cross-context behavioral advertising, as those terms are defined under the California Consumer Privacy Act. If you would like to discuss or exercise the above rights, please contact us using the details set out at the end of this Privacy Policy.
Section 7 — An Ongoing Commitment to Your Privacy
We are just as committed to protecting the privacy of our former customers as we are our current customers. If you choose to become an inactive customer, your Personal Information will continue to be protected by the privacy policies and principles described in the then-current version of this Policy. Vieu may retain your information for regulatory compliance, internal record-keeping and other legitimate business purposes.
Section 8 — How Information Helps Both You and Us
Our goal is to provide business application products that give access to enterprise insights and actionable workflows. Information about you and your accounts plays a key role in our ability to succeed in this mission. We use Personal Information to:
provide, operate, maintain, and improve the Services;
authenticate users, secure accounts, prevent fraud and abuse, and protect Vieu and its users from harm;
respond to your requests for assistance, provide customer support, and communicate with you about the Services (including service announcements, updates, and product communications);
analyze usage and trends to improve and develop the Services; and
comply with applicable law and respond to lawful requests from public authorities.
We may use your work email address, name, and company name to send you communications about Vieu products and features. You may opt out of such communications at any time using the unsubscribe link included in those messages or by contacting us at info@vieu.com.
Section 9 — Sharing Your Information with Unaffiliated Third Parties
To protect your privacy, we share your Personal Information only as described below. We conduct our business with great respect for the confidential nature of the information being provided. We do not sell Personal Information, and we do not "share" Personal Information for cross-context behavioral advertising or targeted advertising as those terms are defined under the California Consumer Privacy Act. We will not share Personal Information about you except as outlined below:
We engage service providers to help us deliver the Services, including providers of cloud hosting and storage, database services, AI model hosting, authentication, analytics, customer communications, transactional email, and product support. Each such provider is bound by a written agreement that imposes data-protection obligations and processes Personal Information solely on our documented instructions. The current list of subprocessors and the procedure for receiving notice of new subprocessors is set out in our Data Processing Agreement, available at https://try.vieu.com/legal/data-processing.
As we develop our business, we might sell or buy businesses or assets. In the event of a corporate sale, merger, reorganization, dissolution or similar event, Personal Information may be part of the transferred assets.
Vieu also reserves the right to disclose your personal information where required by law to regulatory, law enforcement or other government authorities, including during routine regulatory examinations. We may also disclose your information as necessary to credit reporting or collection agencies, or when necessary to protect our rights or property.
Section 10 — Reviewing, Changing or Correcting Information
You are responsible for helping us to maintain the accuracy and completeness of your Personal Information and other data. We urge you to review your information regularly to ensure that it is correct and complete. If you would like to review your Personal Information or if you believe that any of your Personal Information is incorrect, or if you have any questions regarding your Personal Information, or this Privacy Policy, please contact us at info@vieu.com.
Section 11 — Third Party Sites
If at any time you choose to purchase a product or service offered by another company, any Personal Information you share with that company will be subject to the privacy policies of the applicable third party companies and will not be controlled by our Privacy Policy. Other than as described above, we are not responsible for the privacy policies or the content of third party sites and/or services (each, a "Third Party Service") we link to, and have no control of the use or protection of information provided by you or collected by those Third Party Services. Whenever you elect to hyperlink to a Third Party Service, you may be asked to provide registration or other information. Please note that the information you are providing is going to a third-party, and you should familiarize yourself with the privacy policy provided by that party.
Section 12 — Privacy and the Internet
The following additional information will be of interest to you if you access the Services through one or more of our websites:
The Services are built upon an infrastructure with multiple layers of protection, including physical security of our equipment to system intrusion detection capabilities. Within the Services, we use industry standard encryption technologies to help safeguard your information.
Security is a cooperative effort between us and the users of the Services. Please remember that your user identification and password are personal to you and should not be made available to any other person. Also, you should discontinue their use and notify us if you have any reason to suspect that someone else may be using them.
"Cookies" are small text files that may be placed on your web browser when you visit our websites. Cookies make it easier for you to navigate our website by, among other things, "remembering" your identity so that you do not have to input your password multiple times as you navigate between our website pages and/or access our services. Authentication (i.e., verifying that you are who you say you are) is an essential component of site security. You can set your web browser to inform you when cookies are set, or to prevent cookies from being set. Please note that if you decline to use cookies, you may experience reduced functionality, slower site response times, and declining to use our authentication-related cookies may prevent you from using our website altogether.
The Services may include professional and business collaboration features ("Features"), such as the LinkedIn Share button, Teams Share button, Slack Share button and widgets, such as the "Share This" button or interactive mini-programs that run on the Services ("Widgets"). These Features and Widgets may collect your IP address, which page you are visiting on the Services, and may set a cookie to enable the Feature or Widget to function properly. Social media Features and Widgets are either hosted by a third party or hosted directly on the Services. Your interactions with these Features and Widgets are governed by the privacy policy of the company providing it.
Section 13 — CalOPPA Disclosures
Do Not Track Signals
We do not currently respond to web browsers' "Do Not Track" signals that provide a method to opt out of the collection of information about visitors' activities on the Services, and across other websites. If we do so in the future, we will provide all relevant information in this Privacy Policy.
Third Party Data Collection
We may authorize certain third parties, including PostHog and LogRocket, to track usage and collect information about users and their activities on the Services, as further described in the "Sharing Your Information with Unaffiliated Third Parties" section above.
