Intent Data

The set of behavioral signs that indicate a prospect’s intention to buy your product is known as intent data.

Types of Intent Data

  1. First-party intent data: Collect first-party intent data directly from your website, mobile app, or email campaigns. This data reveals your visitors' behavior, such as the pages they visit, content they download, or visit frequency.

For example, frequent visits to your pricing page or white paper downloads indicate strong buying intent, prompting you to prioritize follow-up.

  1. Second-party intent data: Obtain second-party intent data by partnering with other companies. This shared data provides insight into potential customers who have shown interest in similar products or services.

For instance, your sales team can engage with prospects if a partner shares data that the prospects have been researching similar solutions.

  1. Third-party intent data: Acquire third-party intent data aggregated by external providers. This data captures broader online behavior and reveals a prospect's interests based on their activity across multiple sources.

For example, if a third-party data provider indicates a company has been searching for industry-specific software solutions on review sites and forums, it signals a potential buying intent that your sales team can leverage.
